My Postfade Sound’ TV Post Production at Pinewood in 2007

I’m David Taylor, an ex-broadcast TV Sound Supervisor with experience in recording orchestras and operas for ITV (Aquarius and The South Bank Show), the Royal Opera House and Channel 4 (Opera on 4).
I specialised in music programmes of all types throughout my years in live TV and later in sound post-production and won a BAFTA for the Channel 4 coverage of ‘The Mysteries’ from the National Theatre and finally ran my own TV Sound Post Production facility at Pinewood Studios called ‘Postfade Sound’, hence the current name.
‘Sound’ though has changed a lot since I started in 1966 and now as a ‘one-man band’ I can also run multiple cameras along with a comprehensive sound rig that’s suitable for almost any classical ensemble from full Symphony Orchestra to a soloist.

I realised that a great music video requires firstly – great sound. Otherwise it fails to engage at a musical level and is just ‘a visual record’.

CAN I HELP YOUR ‘MUSIC GROUP’?
Having recently returned to recording classical music, I’ve added multi-camera video production to ‘my skills’ and am happy to give you multi-camera video or just sound only recording to professional standards. Whether you have a large orchestra, or something some what smaller, I’m keen on providing both local amateur classical groups and professional musicians in the South-West with high-quality video and sound using my own multiple small remote-controlled HD (4K) video cameras and sound equipment, along with full editing and sound and vision post-production.
This is suitable for recordings of a wide range of classical music concerts and also ‘studio’ CD quality sound recording, DVD video productions, and the presence of my recording equipment at concerts is remarkably ‘discreet’ from an audience’s point of view.
Musicians in the South and South-West from Southampton and Hampshire to Exeter and further into Devon can therefore get professionally finished recordings, whilst allowing them total control over their use for any of their archival or promotional purposes.

COSTS?
I am aware that cost is a major factor in whether amateur music groups can justify the need for videos
and although you’ll get a very professional product, I currently offer complete video and sound recordings for just a nominal fee, usually of £150 per concert to cover my expenses, such as hotel bills and to help with equipment costs.
